In 2019, Garrigan, Lommen, and Pirtle created a four-panel mural called "The Morrighan," based on stories from the Irish “Book of Invasions” and their goal of combining three different art styles in one piece. “The Morrighan” from Ugly Daisy Studio is a large mural that uses symbols from Celtic and pre-Celtic traditions to explore mythology and memory. The artwork focuses on the Morrigan, the Irish "Phantom Queen," a goddess linked to battle, death, and sorrow, often connected with crows and ravens, shown here as three women with a bird between them. The image includes symbols from Irish history and legend, such as the leaping salmon of wisdom, chariot horses, the Neolithic triple spiral of Newgrange, and crescent shapes that can suggest both coats of arms and Bronze Age gold neck rings. As part of an online art portfolio, the project invites viewers to think about old beliefs, archaeological finds, and modern interpretation, and to look carefully at each symbol in the painting.
