Fires began to burn in the early morning of Sept. 1, 1894 near Quamba and Beroun.-The Quamba fire destroyed Brook Park at 1400 hours (2:00pm). The Beroun fire destroyed Mission Creek at 1430 hours.
Both fires combined and destroyed Hinckley at 1530 h, Sandstone at 1735 h, Askov and Finlayson by 1900 h. The fire overtook one of the trains caring survivors at a small lake called Skunk Lake at 1625 h."
